Sources & Verification
NHL FOUNDATION PACK — SOURCES & NOTES (Verification Trail)
Companions: nhl-rafters-stanley-cup.md (The Rafters) · nhl-records-leaders.md (The Records). Compiled October 19, 2026.
Method
- House law applied throughout: no number from memory alone. Every printed total was corroborated by two independent sources actually fetched during the research sessions. Where two sources disagreed, both numbers are printed in the Disputes Register (reproduced in
nhl-records-leaders.md, indexed below) — never silently resolved. Where a figure could not be corroborated, it is listed in the UNVERIFIED Register and is not printed as fact in the deliverables. - Snapshot: All records totals are frozen through the end of the 2025–26 season (Stanley Cup Final, June 2026). The 2026–27 season is in progress; live October 2026 totals were identified and excluded everywhere — the pack's central method problem, handled by the bridge method documented in Part B (June 2026 snapshot tables paired with live tables minus verified early-2026–27 increments).
- Compiler spot-checks (compile pass, October 19, 2026, independently fetched): (1) 2026 Stanley Cup Final — Carolina Hurricanes def. Vegas Golden Knights 4–2, Game 6 3–0 on June 14, 2026 at T-Mobile Arena (Brandon Bussi 22-save shutout; Taylor Hall series-winning goal; Jordan Staal Conn Smythe) — confirmed via NHL.com (Hurricanes recap, June 15, 2026), AP reporting (June 14–15, 2026), USA TODAY and sportradar's Game 6 record, agreeing with the Rafters draft's [S1][S6][S7]. (2) Alexander Ovechkin, career goals through 2025–26 = 929 (with 758 A / 1,687 P / 1,573 GP; 32 goals in 2025–26) — confirmed via Bleacher Report (July 2, 2026), Daily Faceoff and Field Level Media reporting, agreeing with the skaters draft's [S5][S12a][S16].
Two-source coverage
| Pack part | Rows printed | Two-source corroborated | Exceptions |
| Rafters §1 Challenge era | 22 | 22 | Basis dispute D-C1 (alternative counting printed) |
| Rafters §2 Interleague era | 12 (11 champions + 1919 gap) | 12 | — |
| Rafters §3 NHL-only era | 100 (99 champions + 2005 gap) | 100 champions | Runner-up/series cells 1927–1999 rest primarily on the primary list [S2] with champion corroboration and spot-checks — flagged in the Rafters file §5, note 10 |
| Rafters §4 Franchise totals | 34 | 34 | Derived by counting §§1–3; cross-checked [S10] |
| Records — skater career tables | 75 (3 × Top 25) | 75 | Team sequences for retired players ranked 15–25 from standard registers/club lists (see Part B UNVERIFIED note) |
| Records — skater single-season tables | 32 entries | 32 | — |
| Records — goalie career tables | 53 (26 wins incl. T-25 pair; 27 shutouts incl. tie groups) | 53 | Vachon printed 353 per compiler ruling D-G2 (both canonical databases) against four secondary lists at 355 |
| Records — goalie single-season tables | 29 (16 wins ≥44; 13 shutouts ≥13) | 29 | — |
Headline: every printed table row is two-source corroborated on the printed basis. The known soft spots — 1927–1999 runner-up/series cells, skater team sequences at ranks 15–25, and the challenge-era counting basis — are flagged at the point of use, not buried.
Compiler rulings
- D-G2 (Vachon): printed 353 (T-25 with Nabokov) in §7 of the Records. The original goalie pass printed 355 from four secondary lists (NHL.com Kings, SI, Heroes of the Crease, a 300-win list); fresh direct fetches of Hockey-Reference [G7] and QuantHockey [G6] both read 353, and the original pass's own StatMuse table omits Vachon from its top 25 — consistent only with 353. Both numbers and all sources are printed in the register.
- D-G7 (Broda): printed 61 shutouts on three-database consensus (HR [G9], QuantHockey [G8], StatMuse [G10]); the 62 reading (NHL.com 100 Greatest profile, PSA, THW) is printed in the register.
Part A — Championships (Rafters) source log
The Rafters file carries its own Source Log in full (nhl-rafters-stanley-cup.md, [S1]–[S10]): [S1] Wikipedia "Stanley Cup Final"; [S2] "List of Stanley Cup champions" via its Ice Hockey Wiki mirror + Simple English edition (direct en.wikipedia.org fetch not obtained — disclosed in the file); [S3] "List of Stanley Cup challenge games"; [S4] Hockey-Reference Cup winners list; [S5] NHL.com champions 2000–2009; [S6] NHL.com 2025/2026 Final reporting; [S7] 2026 Final page + ESPN/USA TODAY; [S8] USA TODAY FTW winners-by-year; [S9] Sports Illustrated champions list; [S10] franchise-totals cross-checks. Disputes D-C1–D-C7 are printed in the Rafters file §5 (challenge-era counting basis; FTW totals errors; Carolina 1 vs 2 staleness; 2009 coach credit; 1895 ruling; 1927 notation; rejected Stake.com table).
Part B — Skater records source log & verification
SOURCE LOG — sources actually fetched in this session
- [S1] QuantHockey — "Active NHL Forwards ‑ All-Time Points Leaders" (quanthockey.com/nhl/records/nhl-active-forwards-all-time-points-leaders.html), opened in full. Page footer on QuantHockey leader pages this session: "Current season NHL stats last updated: October 18, 2026" — i.e., QuantHockey's live tables include 2026–27 and cannot be used raw for this snapshot; used here as the October bridge source for active players (Crosby 657 G / 1,110 A / 1,767 P in 1,429 GP; Ovechkin 930 / 761 / 1,691 in 1,581 GP; Malkin 538 / 876 / 1,414; Kane 509 / 896 / 1,405; Stamkos 628 / 638 / 1,266; McDavid 415 / 828 / 1,243 in 802 GP). QuantHockey's all-time (non-active) leader pages were searched for repeatedly; search returned only the active/playoff variants, so no all-time QuantHockey table is cited — see Verification Log.
- [S2] Hockey-Reference — "NHL & WHA Career Leaders and Records for Assists" (hockey-reference.com/leaders/assists_career.html), opened in full (NHL table, ranks 1–250, with Years spans). Live version including 2026–27.

- [S6] StatMuse — career assists leader tables, June 2026 crawls: full Top 25 printed identically in two separate crawls (Thornton 1,109 at No. 7, Crosby 1,107 at No. 8, Malkin 874 at No. 25), plus the detailed top-10 table (93 days ago).
- [S7] StatMuse — career points leader tables, June 2026 crawls: full Top 25 printed identically in two separate crawls (Crosby 1,761 at No. 7, Ovechkin 1,687 at No. 10, Malkin 1,407 at No. 23, Kane 1,400 at No. 24, Kurri 1,398 at No. 25).
- [S8] StatMuse — single-season goals leader table (92 in 1981–82 on top; full top 12 printed, identical in five separate crawls).
- [S9] StatMuse — single-season assists leader table (163 in 1985–86 on top; full top 25 printed).
- [S10] StatMuse — single-season points leader table (215 in 1985–86 on top; full top 25 printed).
- [S11] ESPN (Keith Jenkins) — "Which player has the most career points in NHL history?" Two versions fetched: Oct. 18, 2026 (Top 15, October totals) and Apr. 6, 2026 (Top 15, late-2025–26 totals: Crosby 1,759 = 654 G + 1,105 A; Ovechkin 1,684 = 928 G + 756 A).
- [S12] Daily Faceoff — (a) Ovechkin 2026–27 preview: "racked up 32 goals and 64 points in 82 games … during the 2025–26 regular season, putting his career totals up to 929 goals and 1,687 points in 1,573 games"; (b) Crosby longest-tenured-captain piece, Sept. 2026: 2025–26 line of 29 G / 45 A / 74 P in 68 GP, and "Across 21 NHL seasons, Crosby has 654 goals and 1,107 assists for 1,761 points in 1,420 career regular-season games."
- [S13] NHL.com — Kopitar retirement coverage, Apr. 27, 2026: Kopitar "retires as the Kings franchise leader in games played (1,521), assists (864) and points (1,316)"; 452 career goals; 2025–26 line 12 G / 26 A / 38 P in 67 GP (hockey247 recap via search).
- [S14] Hockey-Reference — Connor McDavid 2025–26 scoring log (48 G / 90 A / 138 P), with StatMuse — McDavid career table (per-season rows through 2025–26; career 794 GP / 409 G / 811 A / 1,220 P).
- [S15] theScore / Sportsnet, Oct. 17, 2026 — "Crosby passes Thornton for 7th-most assists in NHL history": Crosby's assist that night was his 1,110th; Thornton 1,109; Gretzky 1,963. Proves the pass happened in 2026–27, not in the snapshot window.
- [S16] DAZN — "NHL career goals: Who is on the all time list?" End-of-2024–25 snapshot used as the bridge baseline (Ovechkin 897, Gretzky 894, Howe 801, Jagr 766, Hull 741, Dionne 731, Esposito 717, Gartner 708, Messier 694, Yzerman 692, Lemieux 690, Selanne 684, Robitaille 668, Shanahan 656, Andreychuk 640, Sakic 625, Iginla 625, Crosby 625, Bobby Hull 610, Kurri 601).
- [S17] 500-goal-club lists (Yardbarker / The Hockey Writers): boundary corroboration below the goals cut — Joe Nieuwendyk 564, Mats Sundin 564, Mike Modano 561, Guy Lafleur 560, Johnny Bucyk 556, Ron Francis 549, Michel Goulet 548.
- [S18] The Rubber Match — "NHL players with 1,000 or more career assists" (Oct. 2026): full team sequences for the 14 members of the 1,000-assist club.
- [S19] Gino Hard (AP) — Patrick Kane assist record, Oct. 2026: Kane's 895th career assist passed Phil Housley (894); a second assist the same night took him to 896, and 1,405 career points — an October 2026 bridge check, not a snapshot figure.
- [S20] Wikipedia — "List of career achievements by Wayne Gretzky": single-season record anchors (92 goals, 1981–82; 163 assists and 215 points, 1985–86) and career anchors (894 / 1,963 / 2,857).
† after a years span = still active in 2026–27; the total shown is through the end of 2025–26 only. Hockey-Reference's Years column for these players reads "–27" because it already includes the in-progress season; the spans below are restated to the snapshot.
UNVERIFIED (skaters, as filed)
- None of the totals in Tables 1–6 are UNVERIFIED. Every career total is printed by the June 2026 StatMuse snapshot [S5][S6][S7] and re-derived from the live Hockey-Reference tables [S2][S3][S4] by subtracting a verified early-2026–27 line; the points top 15 is further confirmed by two dated ESPN versions [S11].
- One soft spot, disclosed rather than hidden: career team sequences for retired players ranked 15–25 in each table are the standard sequences from the players' registers and the fetched club lists [S16][S17][S18]; they were not each opened player-by-player in this session. Totals and years spans — the load-bearing columns — are fully sourced; if the pack's house standard requires a per-player register fetch for the Teams column, that is a mechanical follow-up, not a research risk.
- QuantHockey all-time tables: the brief named QuantHockey as the primary source. Its active-player leader pages were fetched in full and via search snippets and are cited as [S1], but its all-time (all-player) leader pages could not be surfaced through search in this session (every result was an active-player or playoff variant), so no all-time QuantHockey table is listed in the Source Log. The June 2026 StatMuse tables — which agree with Hockey-Reference on every overlapping figure once the October games are backed out — served as the snapshot source instead. If the compiler can open quanthockey.com/nhl/records/ directly in a browser, a one-pass visual check of the three career tables against it is recommended before publication.
Verification Log (skaters, as filed)
VERIFICATION LOG — source pairings per table
Method note (the hockey-specific problem): unlike the NFL pack, there is no clean "through-2025" printed leaderboard available in October 2026, because the next season has already started and every live table has rolled forward. The method used is the same bridge arithmetic as the NFL draft's Active-Player Watch, applied table-wide: (A) a snapshot table crawled in June 2026, in the days after the 2025–26 season ended (StatMuse crawls timestamped ~90–120 days before this October session, whose news sidebars date to June 23–29, 2026), paired with (B) the live October 2026 Hockey-Reference leader pages [S2][S3][S4] and QuantHockey active pages [S1], from which each active player's early-2026–27 increment is small, individually reported, and subtracts exactly back to the June figure. Retired players — the large majority of every table — are identical in both snapshots, which is itself a cross-check on the crawl dates.
- Table 1 (Career goals): (A) StatMuse June 2026 Top 25, printed identically in three crawls [S5]; (B) Hockey-Reference goals leaders, opened in full [S3] — identical for all retired players; actives differ by exactly their October increments (Ovechkin +1 = his first 2026–27 goal, reported league-wide; Crosby +3; Stamkos +4). Baselines bridged from the end-of-2024–25 DAZN list [S16] plus verified 2025–26 lines for Ovechkin (+32 [S12a]) and Crosby (+29 [S12b]). Boundary (Nieuwendyk/Sundin 564) confirmed by [S3] and [S17].
- Table 2 (Career assists): (A) StatMuse June 2026 Top 25, printed identically in two crawls [S6]; (B) Hockey-Reference assists leaders, opened in full [S2] — identical for retired players; the Crosby/Thornton and Kane/Housley order flips are dated to specific October 2026 games by [S15] and [S19], proving they fall outside the snapshot. Boundary (Esposito 873 at No. 26, one behind Malkin) printed in both [S2] and the June detail tables.
- Table 3 (Career points): (A) StatMuse June 2026 Top 25, printed identically in two crawls [S7]; (B) ESPN Top 15 in two dated versions (Apr. 6, 2026 and Oct. 18, 2026) [S11] plus Hockey-Reference points leaders opened in full [S4]. Three-source agreement on every retired row; actives reconciled by the same October-increment bridges (Crosby +6, Ovechkin +4, Malkin +7, Kane +5).
- Table 4 (Single-season goals): (A) StatMuse single-season goals table, identical in five crawls [S8]; (B) anchors and ordering corroborated by the Gretzky records list [S20] and by the goal/assist components printed inside the single-season points and assists tables [S9][S10] (e.g., Hull 86 in 1990–91 with 45 A / 131 P; Lemieux 85 in 1988–89 with 114 A / 199 P — all three tables agree on the shared rows).
- Table 5 (Single-season assists): (A) StatMuse single-season assists table, full Top 25 [S9]; (B) anchor (163, 1985–86) confirmed by [S20] and by the points table's 215-point row (52 G + 163 A) [S10]; the No. 12–13 tier (Gretzky 102 in 1989–90, Orr 102 in 1970–71) is printed in the same StatMuse table.
- Table 6 (Single-season points): (A) StatMuse single-season points table, full Top 25 [S10]; (B) anchors (215 / 212 / 208 / 205 and Lemieux's 199) confirmed by [S20] and by a 200-point-club feature fetched in search; components cross-agree with Tables 4 and 5 on every shared season.
- Active-Player Watch: Ovechkin — [S12a] + [S5] + [S16]; Crosby — [S12b] + [S5][S6][S7]; Malkin/Kane/Stamkos/Tavares — June StatMuse active tables [S5] bridged to live [S1][S2][S3][S4], with Kane's October increment pinned to a dated AP-reported game [S19]; McDavid — [S14] (two sources for the 2025–26 line and career table) bridged to [S4]; Kopitar — [S13] + [S2][S4] (his totals are identical in June and October tables because he retired in April 2026 — a useful control case proving the bridge method: a player with no 2026–27 games shows no drift).
Draft prepared October 2026. All sources were fetched during this research session; figures are as published by those outlets at the crawl dates noted. The compiler should re-check the two DISPUTES items (Crosby's 2025–26 split, McDavid's 2025–26 assists) and the QuantHockey all-time visual check noted under UNVERIFIED if the pack's house standard requires a single printed source per figure.
Part C — Goalie records source logs & verification
First-pass note (printed, not hidden): the original goalie research pass's own source log was lost when its draft file was truncated mid-write (the file ended mid-row in the shutouts table). The pass's pairings survive inside the Records file's per-table "Source pairing" paragraphs (tags [S1]–[S18] there refer to that pass's sources as described in those paragraphs: StatMuse all-time tables [S2]–[S6], The Rubber Match 400-win list [S7], ESPN [S8], NHL.com [S9], The Hockey News [S10], HHOF [S11], shootout-split source [S13], and QuantHockey reproductions [S1]). A completion pass then re-verified every printed §7/§8 figure against fresh direct fetches — Hockey-Reference and QuantHockey leader pages — and built §§9–10. Its log ([G1]–[G19]) is the operative pairing for all four goalie tables:
SOURCE LOG
Tags [S1]–[S13] are the original (pre-truncation) pass's sources, cited in the printed §§1–2 text and pairing paragraphs above; the original log defining them was lost when the draft was truncated, and the [S] pairings are described inline where they are used (notably §1.1's pairing paragraph). Tags [G1]–[G19] are this completion pass's own fetches (October 19, 2026). Live database pages [G6]–[G9] include early 2026–27 games; snapshot figures below are stated with those increments backed out, as detailed in the DISPUTES items.*
For §3 (Single-Season Wins):
- [G1] Hockey-Reference, "NHL & WHA Single Season Leaders and Records for Wins" (hockey-reference.com/leaders/wins_goalie_season.html), fetched directly: full NHL table — 48 ×2 (Brodeur 2006-07, Holtby 2015-16), 47 ×3 (Parent 1973-74, Luongo 2006-07, Hellebuyck 2024-25), 46 Nabokov 2007-08, 45 ×2 (Kiprusoff 2008-09, Brodeur 2009-10), 44 ×8 (Sawchuk 1950-51 and 1951-52, Parent 1974-75, Brodeur 2007-08, Nabokov 2009-10, Price 2014-15, Vasilevskiy 2017-18, Hellebuyck 2017-18), then the 43 group; the same page shows Vasilevskiy 39 in 2025-26 and no 2025-26 season at 40+.
- [G2] StatMuse single-season wins tables (three query phrasings, search-result reproductions): identical 16 seasons at 44+ with teams and GP (Holtby 48 WSH 2015-16; Brodeur 48 NJD 2006-07; Hellebuyck 47 WPG 2024-25; Luongo 47 VAN 2006-07; Parent 47 PHI 1973-74; Nabokov 46 SJS 2007-08; Brodeur 45 NJD 2009-10; Kiprusoff 45 CGY 2008-09; Vasilevskiy 44 TBL 2017-18; Hellebuyck 44 WPG 2017-18; Price 44 MTL 2014-15; Nabokov 44 SJS 2009-10; Brodeur 44 NJD 2007-08; Parent 44 PHI 1974-75; Sawchuk 44 DET 1951-52 and 1950-51).
- [G3] Guinness World Records, "Most matches won in an NHL ice hockey season by a goaltender": 48, shared by Martin Brodeur and Braden Holtby (2016).
- [G11] NHL.com, "Sorokin, Swayman, Vasilevskiy named Vezina Trophy finalists" (April 29, 2026): Vasilevskiy 39-15-4 "led the League in wins this season for the sixth time in his career" (2025-26); Sorokin "led the NHL with seven shutouts" (2025-26). Corroborated for both currency notes by theScore's version of the same announcement and by [G17].
For §4 (Single-Season Shutouts):
- [G4] Hockey-Reference, "NHL & WHA Single Season Leaders and Records for Shutouts" (hockey-reference.com/leaders/shutouts_season.html), fetched directly: 22 Hainsworth 1928-29; 15 ×4 (Connell 1925-26 and 1927-28, Winkler 1927-28, Esposito 1969-70); 14 Hainsworth 1926-27; 13 ×7 (Benedict 1926-27, Connell 1926-27, Hainsworth 1927-28, Roach 1928-29, Worters 1928-29, Lumley 1953-54, Hasek 1997-98); then the 12 group. The same page shows Sorokin 7 in 2025-26 and no 2025-26 season above 7.
- [G5] StatMuse single-season shutouts tables (three query phrasings, search-result reproductions): identical 13 seasons at 13+ with teams (Hainsworth 22 MTL 1928-29; Esposito 15 CHI 1969-70; Connell 15 SEN 1927-28; Winkler 15 BOS 1927-28; Connell 15 SEN 1925-26; Hainsworth 14 MTL 1926-27; Hasek 13 BUF 1997-98; Lumley 13 TOR 1953-54; Roach 13 NYR 1928-29; Worters 13 NYA 1928-29; Hainsworth 13 MTL 1927-28; Benedict 13 MMR 1926-27; Connell 13 SEN 1926-27).
- [G12] Hockey Hall of Fame, George Hainsworth member page (hhof.com): 1928-29 — "allowing only 43 goals in 44 games and registering 22 shutouts"; also the source for the 104 professional total in DISPUTES item 6.
- [G17] StatMuse, 2025-26 shutouts by a goalie: Sorokin 7 (NYI), Hofer 6, then Bobrovsky/Gibson/Wedgewood/Gustavsson/Oettinger/Thompson/Wallstedt 4 — confirms Sorokin as sole 2025-26 leader; the same result set gives Bobrovsky's 2025-26 Florida line (27 W), consistent with §1's snapshot pairing.
For §§1–2 (re-verification of the printed career tables, this pass):
- [G7] Hockey-Reference, "NHL & WHA Career Leaders and Records for Wins" (hockey-reference.com/leaders/wins_goalie_career.html), fetched directly. Live (incl. 2026-27): Brodeur 691, Fleury 575, Roy 551, Luongo 489, Belfour 484, Lundqvist 459, Bobrovsky 457, Joseph 454, Sawchuk 445, Plante 437, Esposito 423, Quick 410, Hall 407, Fuhr 403, Osgood 401, Miller 391, Hasek 389, Vernon 385, Vanbiesbrouck 374, Vasilevskiy 374, Moog 372, Barrasso 369, Rinne 369, Price 361, Nabokov 353 and Vachon 353 (T-25), Hellebuyck 345. Backing out the 2026-27 increments (Bobrovsky +1, Vasilevskiy +4 — DISPUTES items 1 and 3), every printed §1 total is confirmed except Vachon's 355 (DISPUTES item 2).
- [G6] QuantHockey, "NHL Goalies – All-Time Wins Leaders" (quanthockey.com/nhl/records/nhl-goalies-all-time-wins-leaders.html), fetched directly (page footer: stats updated October 19, 2026). Identical top 25 to [G7], including Bobrovsky 457 in 812 GP, Vasilevskiy 374 in 604 GP, and Vachon 353 (listed one row below Nabokov's 353).
- [G9] Hockey-Reference, "NHL & WHA Career Leaders and Records for Shutouts" (hockey-reference.com/leaders/shutouts_career.html), fetched directly: NHL table confirms every printed §2 row 1–18 and supplies rows 19–25 (Broda 61, Rinne 60, Nabokov 59, Roach 58, Benedict 57, Giacomin 54, Parent 54; next Bobrovsky/Halak 53). Years as printed in §2.1 are this page's years.
- [G8] QuantHockey, "NHL Goalies – All-Time Shutouts Leaders" (quanthockey.com/nhl/records/nhl-goalies-all-time-shutouts-leaders.html), fetched directly: identical shutout totals for all 25 rows and the 53 pair below them; spells the rank-6T goalie "Alex Connell" (418 GP) where [G9] has "Alec Connell" (DISPUTES item 5).
- [G10] StatMuse career shutouts tables (two query phrasings, search-result reproductions): identical 25 rows (Brodeur 125 … Parent 54), including Broda 61, Rinne 60, Nabokov 59, Roach 58, Benedict 57, Giacomin 54, Parent 54; Connell at 418 GP.
- [G16] NHL.com (San Jose Sharks), "Evgeni Nabokov To Be Inducted Into San Jose Sports Hall Of Fame" (2018): Nabokov's NHL teams (San Jose, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning), 353 wins, 59 shutouts, 697 GP — grounds the §2.1 row 21 team list and total.
- [G19] PSA CardFacts, Bernie Parent (1968 Topps): Parent joined Boston in 1965, taken by Philadelphia in the 1967 expansion draft, traded to Toronto, returned to Philadelphia; career 54 shutouts in 608 games. Corroborated by Yardbarker's HHOF obituary coverage (Boston start, 1965; Toronto trade, 1971; WHA Philadelphia Blazers season, 1972-73 — excluded here). Grounds the §2.1 row 24T team list.
- [G14] The Hockey News, "Top 100 Goalies" profiles: Clint Benedict — NHL career 1917-30, teams Ottawa/Montreal Maroons, 57 shutouts (grounds §2.1 row 23); George Hainsworth — 94 NHL shutouts plus 10 in the WCHL = 104 professional (DISPUTES item 6). Also grounding §2.1 team lists: John Ross Roach — Toronto St. Patricks, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, 1921–1935 (Wikipedia infobox; NotInHallOfFame's Hockey-Reference-lineage profile: 58 shutouts, 219 wins); Ed Giacomin — New York Rangers (1965–1976) and Detroit Red Wings (1975–1978), 54 shutouts (PSA AutographFacts).
- [G13] NHL.com, "Turk Broda: 100 Greatest NHL Players" (2017): gives Broda 62 shutouts and 302 wins — the narrative-source split in DISPUTES item 7.
- [G18] The Hockey Writers, "Shutout Showdown: Shutout Frequency of NHL Goaltenders": early-era table reading Connell 81 SO in 417 GP, Chabot 72 SO in 411 GP, Benedict 58 SO — the outlier readings in DISPUTES items 5, 8 and 9.
- [G15] Encyclopaedia Britannica, Jacques Plante: his 1974-75 Edmonton season was in the World Hockey Association (15 wins, 1 shutout); The Hockey Writers' September 21 history gives 31 games for WHA Edmonton — DISPUTES item 4.
UNVERIFIED (goalies, completion pass, as filed)
UNVERIFIED
- Vasilevskiy's intermediate live total of 373 (DISPUTES item 3): by the time of this pass's fetches the live pages had already moved to 374, so the 373 step itself could not be re-fetched as a live page; it is the arithmetic midpoint (370 snapshot + 3 early 2026-27 wins) and is printed as reported, not as fetched.
- Nothing else. Every figure printed in §§2.1 (rows 19–25), 3.1 and 4.1 in this completion — and every printed figure in §§1.1 and 2.1 (rows 1–18) on re-verification — was corroborated by at least two independent fetched sources, as logged above. The only printed figure the fresh database fetches contradict is Vachon's 355 (DISPUTES item 2, ⚠ flagged); Broda (item 7), Benedict (item 8) and Chabot (item 9) are narrative-source splits against a unanimous database reading, printed in DISPUTES rather than resolved.
Era flags & open items (summary)
- Challenge-era basis (D-C1): the roll counts one Cup per season (end-of-season holder). Year-based listings credit Ottawa 11 (vs 9), Kenora 1, Winnipeg Victorias 3 (vs 2) — printed in the Rafters file §5.
- 1919 / 2005 gaps are printed as rows in the roll, never skipped.
- Goalie wins, shootout era: wins from 2005–06 can be earned in shootouts (ties abolished) — comparability note printed in the Records file's basis notes, figures unadjusted.
- 1920s shutouts: Hainsworth's 22 came in a 44-game schedule; Connell's 15 in a 36-game schedule — schedule lengths printed, no editorial adjustment.
- Open item: the skaters pass could not surface QuantHockey's all-time (non-active) leader pages through search; its career tables rest on June 2026 StatMuse snapshot tables bridged against live Hockey-Reference (opened in full). A one-pass visual check against QuantHockey's all-time pages before publication is recommended (the goalie tables did receive direct QuantHockey fetches, [G6][G8]).
- Snapshot drift warning: live leaderboards will keep moving through 2026–27 (Crosby has already passed Thornton in assists and Shanahan in goals in October 2026; Vasilevskiy's live win total moved 373 → 374 during this pack's own compile window). All such movement is excluded from the printed snapshot and documented in the Snapshot Warnings.
